The key to the authentic philly steak is the bread. They say it has something to do with the water from the Schulkill River. Supposedly it makes the bread rise different. Without a doubt it's awesome. But Amoroso rolls are key. There's a place called Johns Roast Pork that's supposedly the best in Philly but they are only open on weekdays. Pats and Geno's are the tourist hotspot, and are pretty decent steaks (though I prefer Pat's). Don't overlook the Roast Pork Sandwich there too. It's pretty good as well.
it will be a weekend trip. so Johns Roast Pork is out the door. I know about Pats and Geno's already. which one are the best because i heard it been a war for years over the best cheesesteak in philly.:1orglaugh
